The U.S. Postal Service celebrates four of winter’s winged beauties with the Birds in Winter Forever stamps. Art director Antonio Alcalá worked together with illustrator Nadia Taylor to create simplified but accurate renderings of these familiar friends.
The Works Projects Administration (WPA) was the largest and most ambitious agency in FDR's New Deal. The WPA hired millions of unemployed Americans for public works projects, including artists who created some 475,000 works of art.
The posters created during this period are some of the most iconic designs of our modern era, and are now honored as USPS Forever Stamps, released in March 2017.
People are excited about these new stamps for good reason.
First of all, they are the cutest popsicle illustrations ever. Secondly, they are scratch-and-sniff! You can now literally send the sweet scent of summer in the mail.
The LOVE stamp is always a ubiquitous choice for wedding invitations and Valentine's Day, but we love this year's design so much we could use it every day!
Designed by artist Anna Rifle Bond (of Rifle Paper Co.), the U.S. Postal Service fills us in on the story behind this year's addition to the LOVE Stamp series:
The Colorful Celebrations stamp series is based on a Mexican art form known as “papel picado,” which translates to “pierced paper.” While the designs suggest cut paper, they actually were created digitally by artist Atzin Gaytan, a graphic designer based in NYC.
Okay, so we sent this stamp design out in a few different month's boxes in 2017. But we were totally unaware of it's magical powers!!
The Total Eclipse of the Sun Forever Stamp, which commemorates the August 21, 2017 eclipse, is a first-of-its-kind stamp that changes when you touch it.
Ours is truly a world culture, and our stamps allow us to weave together the many threads of our national tapestry. With the issuance of the Delicioso Forever stamps, it is the Postal Service’s way of saying these delicioso dishes epitomize the best of America, and will do so forever.
The story of Snailbox begins when hitched twosome Amanda and Zach decided to tackle a problem they’d been wrestling for years: How to stay prepared for important, card-worthy occasions.
In our quest to make Snailbox a socially responsible business, our eyes are always peeled for ways to make meaningful contributions to our society.
Lucky for us, USPS makes it easy to make charitable donations to wonderful causes directly through the purchase of their semipostal stamps. We are proud to include one of these charitable stamps in our May 2020 Collection!
