Business duos are the cutest (though we might be biased...) How did the two of you come to join forces?
It felt like a very natural progression after working at a letterpress company together for a number of years. We have very twin energies when it comes to interfacing with the public and moving one million things forward at once to get a job done. We also have found open communication to be central to our relationship so it's paved the way for us to move thought all the decision making that we've had to do in the last 3 year. Somedays it feels like we make 85 decisions together, everything from budget, to future markets, to dialing in an ink color, to studio space issues. It's so much! We are trying to mind meld for efficiency.
Wildberry Studio started in 2017 after a year of making cards and selling at markets as a combined creative outlet between husband and wife team Hillary Ting and Christopher Burkart. They had always wanted to work together and, after a particularly rough week of work, decided to design Chris’s sister's birthday card as a fun project to make something that promotes connection. They continued creating cards, printing them at home on a snazzy Canon, and eventually came up with a line they felt proud to sell. From there they added other stationery and lifestyle products to their collection and the rest is history!
How did you get started with your illustration career?
I worked shitty (non-creative) jobs for all of my adult life. One day I decided I was going to draw something new everyday as a means of bringing a consistent, creative practice into my life. I started sharing my illustrations on instagram, people saw that I was drawing and then wanted me to draw things for them, for money.
All La Familia Green products begin in Mollie Green’s Chicago studio as an original drawing, print, or collage. Her assistant Rachel packs them up and sends them out!
Mollie enjoys the immediacy and intimacy of cards. You buy a card, write a note and send it out into the world. You never know how many people will experience - hold, use, enjoy - your work.
Running and rescue pets are Mollie’s passions. She donates 10% a month back to local charities. She is also proud to be vegan - so keep in mind that all of those corndogs and nachos in her work are plant based! ;)
We are tickled to introduce you to Faye Guanipa, an illustrator, surface pattern designer, graphic artist, and proprietor of Olive & Company!

Now a full line of stationery, clothing and accessories, Niki creates every block-printed design by hand while juggling a plethora of other interests including creative growth coaching, animals, whistling, and literal juggling.
Yuko Miki is the artist and designer behind Honeyberry Studios. Yuko grew up in a rural town in Japan, where she played in her family's rice paddies and vegetable gardens. She moved to Seattle, Washington in 1996 to attend college. Though she had planned to move back to Japan after graduation, one thing led to another and she found community in Seattle, now her second home. She worked for a non-profit domestic violence organization for 14+ years before transitioning to become a full-time artist in 2015.
Talia Gavish describes her illustration style as “adorably moody”… ie: cute to look at but packed with attitude, just like a real pony! She is committed to reducing her environmental hoofprint, and prints her paper goods locally on Forest Stewardship Council certified, recycled paper.
Jori Pop is an illustrator and designer based in Port Moody, British Columbia. From a background in pattern design and children’s books, Jori’s unique whimsical aesthetic granted her immediate success when she began to sell her art prints and greeting cards at craft fairs and markets around Vancouver. The joy she felt in sharing her illustrations through thoughtfully designed paper products inspired her to launch LINDEN PAPER CO in 2019.
This month we featured the sassy greeting cards of Noelle Hume (DRAWING A BLANK CARDS), who hails from our own hometown of Chicago! After living in New York City, Vermont, and Japan, this art director/graphic designer–turned–illustrator finds inspiration in both the natural surroundings of her current home in upstate New York and the urban setting of her design studio. Elizabeth attributes her bold sense of color to her travels throughout Asia and South America, taking cues from the people, the craft, and the hard work within each new community she visited.
We featured Amy Heitman’s adorable county fair themed greeting cards in our August 2019 collection, so of course we had to ask a few questions about her own experience with the fair.

Forty six years later, he still has that envelope and its contents. He never could have predicted that his interest in ephemera would one day mushroom into a business with clients around the globe.

Gingiber is the work of artist Stacie Bloomfield. Her goal is to encourage and inspire you to live your most full, creative life. Once upon a time, Stacie couldn't find artwork for her daughter's nursery and decided to take matters into her own hands. She kept being drawn (get it?) to the irresistible essence of animals: their furry faces, their perky ears, their plethora of colors and textures. As time went on, Stacie discovered her biggest passion was to make art that encourages women to rise, transform, and shine a light on their creativity and inner strength.
