Gingiber is the work of artist Stacie Bloomfield. Her goal is to encourage and inspire you to live your most full, creative life. Once upon a time, Stacie couldn't find artwork for her daughter's nursery and decided to take matters into her own hands. She kept being drawn (get it?) to the irresistible essence of animals: their furry faces, their perky ears, their plethora of colors and textures. As time went on, Stacie discovered her biggest passion was to make art that encourages women to rise, transform, and shine a light on their creativity and inner strength.

It felt like a very natural progression after working at a letterpress company together for a number of years. We have very twin energies when it comes to interfacing with the public and moving one million things forward at once to get a job done. We also have found open communication to be central to our relationship so it's paved the way for us to move thought all the decision making that we've had to do in the last 3 year. Somedays it feels like we make 85 decisions together, everything from budget, to future markets, to dialing in an ink color, to studio space issues. It's so much! We are trying to mind meld for efficiency.

They had always wanted to work together and, after a particularly rough week of work, decided to design Chris’s sister's birthday card as a fun project to make something that promotes connection. They continued creating cards, printing them at home on a snazzy Canon, and eventually came up with a line they felt proud to sell. From there they added other stationery and lifestyle products to their collection and the rest is history!

I worked shitty (non-creative) jobs for all of my adult life. One day I decided I was going to draw something new everyday as a means of bringing a consistent, creative practice into my life. I started sharing my illustrations on instagram, people saw that I was drawing and then wanted me to draw things for them, for money.

Mollie enjoys the immediacy and intimacy of cards. You buy a card, write a note and send it out into the world. You never know how many people will experience - hold, use, enjoy - your work.
Running and rescue pets are Mollie’s passions. She donates 10% a month back to local charities. She is also proud to be vegan - so keep in mind that all of those corndogs and nachos in her work are plant based! ;)

She worked for a non-profit domestic violence organization for 14+ years before transitioning to become a full-time artist in 2015.
